[11-29-2021] Hidalgo County, TX – One Person Injured, Another Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash in Linn

One male person was killed, and one female passenger was injured in a two-vehicle collision in Linn on Monday, November 29, 2021.

Authorities said the crash happened around 9:45 a.m. at the intersection of Floral Road and Lazy Palms, west of U.S. 281 in Linn.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a green Freightliner truck-tractor towing a dump trailer was headed west on Floral Road.

A gold Saturn passenger car approached the intersection of Floral Road and Lazy Palms.

According to the news release, the Saturn’s driver failed to yield the right of way to the truck tractor, causing the truck-tractor to strike the Saturn’s driver’s side.

The male driver of the Saturn was pronounced dead at the scene.

The female passenger of the Saturn was rushed to DHR Health for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The truck-tractor driver was reportedly uninjured.

The identity of the Saturn driver will be disclosed after the family of the victim has been notified.

Local authorities are still investigating the crash.
