One 21-year-old man was killed after a wrong-way crash with a tractor-trailer in Montgomery County on Wednesday, December 1, 2021.
The collision happened just before Wednesday midnight on Interstate 45 in Montgomery County, prompting authorities to close main lanes near FM 830.
According to Montgomery County Justice of the Peace Wayne Mack, a 21-year-old driver of a Honda Accord traveled northbound on Interstate 45 in the southbound lanes near Willis when he struck a tractor-trailer traveling southbound. The Honda Accord driver died on impact.
The Montgomery County Police Reporter was told by a witness that they saw a fireball behind them at the time.
The tractor-trailer driver sustained minor injuries and was rushed to a hospital.
Local authorities are still investigating the crash.
