A 36-year-old woman identified as Conshneka W. was killed while another person was injured after a head-on collision on Fm 225 on Sunday night, August 15.
The fatal collision transpired at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Farm-to-Market Road 225, just south of Henderson. A southbound 2016 Kia Forte was traveling on FM 225 when, for unclear reasons, it crossed over the center stripe and collided head-on with an oncoming 2016 Kia Optima driven by Williams.
Both of the drivers sustained serious injuries in the mishap. The Kia Optima driver was airlifted to Christus Trinity Mother Francis Hospital, while the Kia Optima driver was flown to UT Health East Texas in Tyler.
Unfortunately, the Kia Optima driver later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. Meanwhile, the Kia Forte driver is currently in critical condition. The Kia Forte driver was later identified as Shaun Cooper. It’s unclear what factors affected the accident. Local authorities are currently investigating the crash.
