Harris County Personal Injury Attorney for Victims of Reckless Driving
If you have never been in an accident before, it can be not easy to know what to do to protect your legal rights. Insurance companies know this. They sometimes try to pressure injury victims into settling quickly before they can consult with a lawyer. You always have the right to consult with your attorney before making any decisions about your case.
For most injury victims, the right to compensation is the most important legal right that they have. You have the right to compensation that is fair. You have the right to be compensated for all the losses you have suffered, including financial losses (such as medical bills and lost wages) as well as non-economic losses (such as your pain and suffering).
It can be difficult to know what compensation is fair in any given case. Insurance companies sometimes try to take advantage of that fact. You need independent legal advice from your own lawyer, who can tell you what a jury is likely to award if your case goes to trial. The guidance of an attorney, in turn, allows you to make an informed decision about whether or not to accept a settlement offer.
