Eight people sustained varying degrees of injuries after a multi-vehicle collision in Terell on Saturday night, August 28.
The accident happened on Interstate 20 near Farm-to-Market Road 429 in Terell at approximately 6:00 p.m. A pickup truck reportedly rear-ended a Kia Optima. Due to the severity of the impact, the Kia was thrown into the air then struck a Chevy Equinox.
Four occupants inside the pickup truck were rushed to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, one of the occupants is currently in critical condition. Meanwhile, one of the four passengers inside the Optima was taken to UT Health Tyler. The three other occupants were rushed to Methodist Dalla Medical Center.
One of the occupants in the Optima was listed in critical condition. The three occupants in Equinox did not sustain any injuries in the mishap. The identities of the involved parties have not been disclosed. Local authorities are further investigating the cause of the collision.
