A 22-year-old man identified as James D. was killed after a deadly pedestrian accident In Longview on Saturday night, August 28.
The fatal accident took place on State Highway 7, just west of FM 2782, at approximately 10:20 p.m. The victim reportedly walked from the center of the roadway towards the westbound lanes, where he was hit by a Chevrolet pickup truck.
The pedestrian sustained serious injuries in the mishap and was rushed to Nacogdoches hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The pickup truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
He was identified as 33-year-old Salvador A. It’s unclear whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident. The DPS is currently investigating the case.
