A 27-year-old woman identified as Abigail Duarte C. was killed in a deadly multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 10.
According to the initial reports from local authorities, the accident took place on Interstate 10 west at Hawkins at around 2:08 a.m. A Ford Focus driven by a 24-year-old woman veered into another lane for unclear reasons. It then struck a cement barrier on I-10 before stopping in the westbound lanes.
A Chevy Silverado then stopped along the freeway to help the woman. A Honda Civic, unfortunately, failed to stop and rear-ended the Silverado. Due to the severity of the impact, the Honda Civic rolled over, causing a chain-reaction crash. A Nissan Sentra that Duarte-Cassiano drove then struck the disabled vehicles on the roadway.
Meanwhile, a Chevrolet Silverado T-boned the Nissan Sentra. Unfortunately, the Nissan Sentra driver was killed in the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Additional information about the accident is unavailable at the moment. Local authorities are further investigating the accident.
