Motorcycle Crash Statistics
A motorcycle rider’s protection against the violent forces of impact during a car crash is relatively limited. In contrast to automobile passengers, motorcyclists lack seatbelt and airbag protection. Motorcycle riders don’t have a robust steel frame specifically designed to bend and collapse under pressure to protect them.
Every day, one motorcycle rider dies on Texas roads, according to the state’s Department of Transportation. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration statistics show that Texas has a high rate of motorcycle-related injuries and deaths.
According to the Texas Department of Transportation, there were 501 fatalities and 2,101 severe injuries among Texas motorcyclists in 2017. In Texas, 412 motorcyclists died, and 1,800 or more were injured in 2019 alone. These alarming figures demonstrate that motorcycle riders in Texas are always at risk.
