One unidentified man was killed after a fatal two-vehicle collision in San Antonio’s south side on Saturday night, October 16.
The accident transpired at approximately 11:50 p.m. in the 10300 block of SE Loop 410 in San Antonio.
A Ford Fusion was heading eastbound. Meanwhile, an 18-wheeler attempted to merge into his lane from the right shoulder.
The Ford then rear-ended the tractor-trailer. Due to the severity of the impact, both of the vehicles caught fire.
The Ford driver was trapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated by emergency personnel. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene. No other people were injured in the crash.
Local authorities are further investigating the cause of the collision. They will attempt to determine whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
