One person was killed while another person was hurt after a fiery head-on collision near Cross Plains on Monday morning, October 18.
According to the initial reports from local authorities, the crash transpired at approximately 7:20 a.m. on Highway 36 near Cross Plains.
A Ford F-150 and an Acura SUV collided head-on near Cross Plains under unclear circumstances. How the collision occurred and why it happened have not been established.
Due to the severity of the impact, one of the vehicles caught fire. A bystander pulled the Ford driver from the burning vehicle.
The Ford driver was then airlifted to an area hospital. His condition has not been disclosed. Unfortunately, the Acura driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The DPS is currently investigating the cause of the collision. They will attempt to determine the factors and the liability in the accident.
