One unidentified 50-year-old woman was killed after a stolen 18-wheeler rammed her house on October 25, Monday.
The crash transpired at approximately 10:40 p.m. at 11500 McKinley Street. Local authorities report that a big rig was stolen at 14700 Sommermeyer.
The vehicle came from a local trucking company in the Hempstead Highway and Gessner area, 10 miles away from the crash scene. According to the Houston Police Department, the stolen truck was equipped with a GPS tracking system which allowed them to locate the vehicle.
When the police arrived, the suspect, identified as a 39-year-old man named Eric B., was still inside the 18-wheeler. This then prompted a police chase.
Black eventually jumped from the moving truck causing the 18-wheeler to crash into the house. One 54-year-old man was reportedly trapped underneath the gas tank following the crash.
He is now in stable condition. Black was later brought to the hospital and was treated for minor injuries. According to the Chief of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division, Black was charged with felony murder and reckless aggravated assault.
