Two unidentified men were killed in a head-on collision in a head-on collision west of Beaumont on Thursday, November 18, 2021.
The fatal collision happened around 7:15 a.m. in IH-10 west of Beaumont.
According to a news release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 2017 Volkswagen passenger car traveling west on Interstate 10 near Boyt Road struck the median barrier. It crossed into the eastbound lanes, colliding head-on with a 2006 Ford pickup.
Following the initial collision, the Ford pickup collided with an eastbound 2002 Chevrolet pickup.
According to the release, the drivers of the Volkswagen and Ford pickups were both pronounced dead at the scene, while no one in the Chevrolet pickup was hurt.
The Ford pickup caught on fire and burned at the scene.
According to the DPS, the drivers’ names will not be released until their families have been notified.
