Three people were killed in a high-speed chase in Laredo on Saturday, November 13, 2021.
The accident transpired at approximately 11:00 p.m. by the intersection of US 83 and Lomas Del Sur.
According to Officer Erick E., a Nissan SUV was involved in a vehicle pursuit.
The trooper had initially stopped it for a traffic violation, but the vehicle did not stop and continued northbound on 83 from Cielito Lindo; according to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the driver began driving at a high rate after running a red light and colliding with a red SUV.
The driver of the red SUV was identified as 62-year-old Alejandra Torres F., who died as a result of the collision, Estrada added.
Four other passengers were taken to the hospital in stable condition, according to DPS. According to the DPS, two passengers in the black SUV died. One of the victims, a man, was rushed to the hospital.
The police were able to apprehend the 23-year-old driver who collided with the other vehicle with the help of other agencies.
The identities of the two other victims have yet to be disclosed, according to authorities.
