[11-20-2021] Harris County, TX – 39-Year-Old Woman in Houston Killed in Uber Car Crash

One woman identified as 39-year-old Misty H. was killed in a two-vehicle crash involving an Uber and a truck in Houston on Saturday, November 20, 2021.

The accident occurred on a Saturday on the Southwest Freeway, near Newcastle.

The victim’s Uber, a Mitsubishi Lancer, had mechanical problems in a moving lane of traffic on the Southwest Freeway near Newscastle.

A truck slammed into the back of the car causing the victim to die at the scene.

Authorities reported that the 50-year-old Uber driver suffered from broken ribs and was taken to the hospital.

The 30-year-old truck driver that slammed into the back of the Uber was reportedly uninjured and stayed on the scene. He was not charged.
