A 48-year-old woman identified as Maria Louisa L. of Odessa was killed in Martin County in a multi-vehicle crash involving two semi-trucks on Wednesday afternoon, December 8, 2021.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the fatal collision happened around 3:00 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 20, five miles west of Stanton.
According to the crash report, two semi-trucks and Loya’s 2020 Chevrolet Trax were traveling east on I-20 near mile marker 152 when the crash occurred.
The collision, according to investigators, caused all three vehicles to catch fire. According to the report, the crash occurred in an unknown manner.
The semi-truck drivers walked away from the accident unharmed. Local authorities are still investigating the crash.
