One 28-year-old pedestrian was gravely injured after a heated argument turned in a pedestrian accident in West El Paso on Thursday, December 16, 2021.
The accident happened shortly before 11:00 a.m. along the 200 block of Edgar Road.
Officials said an injured 28-year-old pedestrian was rushed to the hospital after sustaining critical injuries.
The El Paso Police Department’s Special Traffic Investigations Unit was also dispatched to assist with the investigation.
Investigations revealed that a 53-year-old female driver and pedestrian were related, and they both had engaged in a verbal argument regarding the use of the vehicle.
During this time, the pedestrian hit the driver when he attempted to open the SUV door. As a result, the driver drove away.
As the driver left the scene, she noticed the pedestrian lying on the street and called for help right away. An investigation is underway to determine how the pedestrian was injured.
According to the police, the names of those involved can not be released at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
