One unidentified firefighter from Pasadena was injured after getting struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run accident on Pasadena Boulevard on Saturday, December 18, 2021.
The hit-and-run crash transpired at approximately 9:35 p.m. on Pasadena Boulevard near Dewberry.
According to investigators, the firefighters were going around a neighborhood handing out candy canes to children as part of their “Santa Project.”
Officials said one of the firefighters was directing a fire truck into an intersection when a car rushed in and struck him. The firefighter was thrown about 30 feet.
After hitting the firefighter, the car allegedly fled.
According to Chief Fire Marshal David Brannon, the victim was seriously hurt. The firefighter was taken to the hospital and is now back at home recovering.
A black sedan or SUV is described as the vehicle that fled the scene.
