One 69-year-old woman identified as Patricia R. was killed in a hit-and-run accident north of Tyler on Monday evening, December 20.
The fatal accident occurred just before 10:00 p.m. on State Highway 110.
According to preliminary reports, the woman was struck by an unknown vehicle heading northbound on Highway 110 North in Smith County. The vehicle’s driver fled the scene of the accident and was last seen driving north on Highway 110.
The medical team at UT Health East Texas – Tyler declared the elderly woman dead. The identity of the suspect or the hit-and-run vehicle has not been revealed. There is no additional information available.
The incident is still being investigated.
