Two people were seriously injured after a car slammed into a truck parked in an emergency lane in Northeast El Paso on Tuesday, December 21, 2021.
According to preliminary reports, the two-vehicle collision occurred around 10:00 a.m. in the 5500 block of Railroad Drive.
Initial reports revealed that a 2019 Ford F-350 towing a trailer was parked in the emergency lane of the road in the 5500 block of Railroad Drive when it was hit by a 2005 Ford Mustang.
According to the reports, the Mustang driver, a 25-year-old man, lost control of the vehicle and swerved into the truck for unknown reasons. Both the Mustang driver and his passenger, a 22-year-old woman, were taken to the University Medical Center of El Paso with serious injuries.
The woman is listed in critical but stable condition, while the driver is expected to recover.
In the accident, the truck driver, a 38-year-old man, and his passenger, a 23-year-old man, were unharmed. There are no other details available. The investigation is still ongoing.
