[12-24-2021] Harris County, TX – Couple Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident in Chinatown

Two people, identified as 60-year-old Juan Abelino S. and 59-year-old Martha S., were killed in a hit-and-run crash in Chinatown on Christmas Eve.

The fatal crash occurred at about 7:10 p.m. at eastbound Neff Street, South Gessner.

Authorities have charged a 20-year-old Houston man with fleeing a deadly crash on Christmas Eve.

Alessio Leonardo B. is accused of failing to stop and render aid in a fatal accident on two counts.

The victims were in a green Toyota Camry that left a stop sign at eastbound Neff Street, crossing South Gessner, when they were fatally struck by a speeding southbound silver Chevrolet Silverado, according to Houston police.

Police reports revealed the pickup driver fled after the accident but was apprehended several hours later.

The 20-year-old driver is being held in Harris County Jail on the two charges with a combined bail of $500,000.
