37-year-old Tomika D. and 33-year-old Keenan B. were killed in a fatal pedestrian accident in San Marcos on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2021.
The fatal crash occurred at 2:47 a.m. in the 2300 block of State Highway 123, south of the Wonder World Drive intersection.
The San Marcos Police Department actively responded to an auto-pedestrian accident. The caller informed officers that they had hit two pedestrians who had been standing in the roadway.
Hays County Justice of the Peace Jo Anne Prado declared both victims dead at the scene.
According to the investigation reports, a vehicle registered to the victims was parked in the outside lane of State Highway 123 traffic.
When they were struck, both pedestrians were standing near the car in the inside lane of the road.
The driver of the vehicle that struck Dorsey and Benton has yet to be cited, and no charges are expected. The crash remains under investigation.
