One unidentified woman was killed in a fatal two-vehicle crash on Eastex Freeway on Friday, December 31, 2021.
The fatal rear-end crash occurred just before noon on I-59 near Quitman Street.
A woman was driving north on the freeway when her car abruptly stopped and swerved in front of a pickup truck, according to Houston Police Department sergeants.
The truck then collided with the woman’s car in the back.
According to investigators, she was pronounced dead at St. Joseph’s Medical Center.
The pickup truck driver was unharmed and remained at the scene. The woman may have had a medical emergency just before the crash, according to police.
The investigation is still underway.
