At least one teen died, and three others were hospitalized after a suspected DUI crash in Spring, Texas, on Sunday, January 2.
According to preliminary information, the fatal DUI accident happened shortly before 2:45 a.m. on the 20300 block of Champion Forest near Grand Parkway.
When they arrived, they discovered four people inside a Camaro, including two teenage males in the front seat, ages 18 and 17, and two teenage girls in the backseat, both believed to be 14 years old.
The 18-year-old driver and two rear passengers were taken to the hospital right away with unspecified injuries. Officials, however, declared the unidentified male, 17, in the front passenger seat dead at the scene.
According to preliminary reports, the 18-year-old driver was speeding northbound on Champion Forest when the vehicle collided with a directional sign and continued on before colliding with an embankment wall.
Reports revealed the driver appeared to be intoxicated. There are no other details available.
The fatal crash remains under investigation.
