According to the Dallas Sheriff’s Department, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on Interstate 30 early Thursday morning, January 13, 2022.
The pedestrian accident occurred around 3:20 a.m. on Interstate 30 near St. Francis Avenue, where deputies were later dispatched.
According to investigators, the man had crossed the highway’s westbound lanes and was attempting to cross the eastbound lanes when a white Dodge Charger struck him.
First responders pronounced the man dead. His identity has not been released.
The driver is not expected to face any charges, according to the sheriff’s department.
Authorities are investigating whether another vehicle hit the man before the Dodge Charger.
Around 3:40 a.m., the eastbound lanes were closed, and traffic was diverted to Jim Miller Road. Around 7 a.m. on Thursday, the highway reopened.
According to the sheriff’s department, an investigation is ongoing, and no further information is available.
