A woman identified as 33-year-old Diana V. died after her car was hit by a train in Northeast El Paso on Thursday night, January 13.
The train accident occurred at about 11:21 p.m. at the intersection of Stan Roberts and Dyer Street.
The woman of far East El Paso was driving a 2015 Dodge Charger eastbound on Stan Roberts Sr. Avenue.
She then ran a stop sign at the T intersection of Stan Roberts and Dyer Street, according to El Paso Police Department Special Traffic Investigators.
The 33-year-old woman allegedly entered Dyer, crossed a dirt berm, and came to a halt on railroad tracks, according to police.
The Charger was struck by a Union Pacific train traveling southbound on the tracks.
She was rushed to the University Medical Center of El Paso, where she succumbed to her injuries.
The investigation is still ongoing, according to authorities.
