One person was taken to the hospital while two people were able to escape a fire that destroyed a home in north Brazos County early Sunday morning, January 23, 2022.
The fire happened around 2:00 a.m. in the 2200 block of Cherry Bend Circle near Magnolia Drive on the north side of Lake Bryan.
Chief Joe Warren of the Brazos County Precinct 4 Volunteer Fire Department reported that the cause of the fire is unknown but that everyone, including the pets, survived.
After inhaling too much smoke, one person was taken to the hospital.
According to Chief Warren, the house is a total loss while other nearby structures were not damaged.
The American Red Cross was called to the scene to assist those who had been displaced by the fire.
The Bryan Fire Department, as well as the VFDs from Precincts 2 and 3 in Brazos County, assisted with the fire.
The mobile home was completely engulfed when the authorities arrived.
Chief Warren stated they had to use water tenders to haul water from the Bryan Power Plant at Lake Bryan off of Mumford Road.
