[01-22-2022] Gregg County, TX – One Person Injured in Apartment Complex Fire in Longview

According to the Longview Fire Department, a fire at an apartment complex in Longview sent one person to the hospital on Saturday, January 22, 2022.

According to the department, fire crews were dispatched at approximately 7:36 p.m. to 717 S. Green St. for a reported structure fire at an apartment complex.

When units arrived, they discovered a fire in a bottom-floor apartment and civilians attempting to save the lone occupant.

The victim was rescued and transported to the hospital with smoke inhalation and burns to the face and hands by fire units on the scene.

The fire was brought under control in about 10 minutes, according to the department, and was estimated to have caused $20,000 in damage. There were no other reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
