According to deputies, 78-year-old Rogelio G. died from wounds sustained during an altercation with 40-year-old Chauhtemoc E. in Sorocco Vista Quality Market Parking Lot on Saturday, January 29, 2022.
According to an El Paso County Sheriff’s spokesperson, the Socorro Police Department received a call on Saturday morning at 10005 Alameda Ave, parking lot of the Vista Quality Market, in reference to a fight in progress with a subject down.
According to sheriff’s deputies, when officers arrived, they found two men, one standing and the other lying on the ground unresponsive with no signs of life.
In the preliminary investigation, officers confirmed that one man died as a result of an altercation.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit was requested by the Socorro Police Department.
According to deputies, the 78-year-old man died from wounds sustained during an altercation with the 40-year-old when the Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation.
Espinoza has been charged with murder and is being held in the El Paso County Detention Facility on a $1 million bond.
