[05-29-2022] Jefferson County, TX – 54-Year-Old Lumberton Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 10

A 54-year-old Lumberton man lost his life in a motorcycle wreck along Interstate 10 in Beaumont Sunday, May 29, 2022.

According to the Beaumont Police Department, the fatal collision occurred Sunday evening in the 700 block of Interstate 10 eastbound near the downtown exit.

Shannon B., 54, of Lumberton, died after his motorcycle collided with the center barrier on Interstate 10 eastbound, according to a news release from the Beaumont Police Department.

Barrios was driving east in the inside lane when he lost control and collided with the barrier, according to police. He was thrown over the barrier and into the westbound lanes, where he was hit by a vehicle traveling west.

According to the news release, he was pronounced dead on the scene by Beaumont Fire-EMS paramedics.

The accident is still under investigation.
