A teacher identified as 25-year-old Stephanie S. was killed in a two-vehicle crash involving a 2022 International truck tractor and a 2021 Ford Bronco in Midland County Thursday, June 16, 2022.
The fatal two-vehicle collision happened on a Thursday afternoon on Highway 80.
Stokes was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The initial investigation revealed that the truck tractor was stopped on Hwy 80, blocking both westbound lanes. It attempted to turn into the eastbound lanes of Hwy 80.
The Ford Bronco, driven by Stokes, was in the westbound lane on Hwy 80. Stokes attempted to avoid a collision with the truck tractor but failed and struck the rear of the truck tractor.
The truck tractor driver was treated and released by EMS and was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The crash is still under investigation.
