An unidentified man was killed on Highway 288 feeder after being struck by a vehicle early Tuesday morning, January 4, 2022.
According to preliminary information, the fatal hit-and-run occurred around 6:11 a.m. near W Bellfort Ave on the South Freeway/Hwy 288 feeder.
The man, in his mid-40s to mid-50s, was walking along the service road when he was struck by a vehicle, which then continued on its way.
Someone called 911 for assistance at 6:11 a.m., according to police, and when the Houston Fire Department arrived, they saw someone performing CPR on the man. After that, the person left without providing any information to the responding officers.
It’s unclear if that person had anything to do with the crash.
Police said they found some vehicle debris in the area and are hoping that this will help them identify it. There are no other details available.
Local authorities are still investigating the crash.
