[01-05-2022] Hood County, TX – Mother and Her 1-Year-Old Injured After A 2-Year-Old Accidentally Shoots Them in Walmart Parking Lot

A mother and her 1-year-old were injured after an accidental shooting involving a 2-year-old in a Walmart parking lot on Wednesday morning, January 5, 2022.

The incident occurred at a parking lot in a local Walmart in Granbury. A 2-year-old child reported picking up a concealed gun between the seat and the center console.

The 2-year-old then fired the weapon inside the vehicle while his 23-year-old mother and 26-year-old father were standing outside the vehicle.

Authorities said a bullet went through the 1-year-old’s leg and the mother’s arm and side. The mother’s injuries were potentially more serious, while the 1-year-old did not sustain life-threatening injuries.

Local authorities are further investigating the case.
