A Harris County Sheriff’s deputy was taken to the hospital after being involved in a crash near Franz Road and Mason while responding to a call Tuesday evening, January 11.
The two-vehicle crash happened at about 6:27 p.m. at the intersection of Franz Road and Mason.
According to authorities, the deputy was driving westbound on Franz Road when he ran through a red light. He was responding to an urgent call about a missing child.
Meanwhile, on Mason Road, a Chevy van was speeding southbound. At the intersection, both vehicles collided.
According to authorities, the deputy’s vehicle spun around and overturned.
The deputy was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The van’s driver was unharmed in the collision.
Authorities believe the deputy is to blame, but they are still looking into it.
