According to police, a 30-year-old man was killed, and a 20-year-old woman was critically injured in a fatal two-vehicle crash caused by street racing in Arlington on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.
The two-vehicle collision occurred shortly after 5:00 p.m. on West Green Oaks Boulevard near Lee Drive.
According to a police news release, Priscilla R., 45, the driver accused of street racing, faces charges of racing on a highway causing serious bodily injury.
Officers discovered that a man in a Honda Accord was attempting to turn left from Lee onto Green Oaks when his car was t-boned by a Porsche Cayenne, causing it to collide with a light pole.
The 30-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, a 20-year-old woman, was airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries.
On Wednesday, police said she was in critical condition.
The 45-year-old woman was driving the Porsche at nearly 80 mph, according to police. On that stretch of Green Oaks, the speed limit is 45 mph.
She was hurt in the accident and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses told police that the accused was racing another vehicle when the accident occurred.
Witnesses described the other vehicle as a dark-colored BMW SUV that continued north on Green Oaks after the collision, according to police.
Police have not released the names of the crash victims. The name of the man who died will be released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
