A woman was killed while walking along the main lanes of a West Side Highway early Tuesday morning, January 18, 2022.
The fatal pedestrian accident occurred around 3:30 a.m. on US Highway 90 and W. Military Drive.
According to police, the driver failed to notice the woman and hit her at high speeds.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver came to a halt and requested assistance. At this time, he is not facing any charges.
During the investigation, the area around the accident scene was closed off. The area has now been reopened to the public.
The accident remains under investigation.
