A Victoria man identified as 58-year-old Douglas C. was killed in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 183 near Goliad on Thursday morning, January 20, 2022.
The fatal collision occurred around 7:09 a.m., a few miles from Goliad, north of FM Road 622.
According to Sgt. Ruben San Miguel of the Texas Department of Public Safety, the 58-year-old man who was delivering newspapers for the Victoria Advocate, crossed the center stripe of the highway a few miles from Goliad, north of Farm-to-Market Road 622.
Corrigan’s 2002 Ford F-150 truck collided almost head-on with 56-year-old Barbara H. of Woodsboro, who was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado truck.
According to the sergeant, Corrigan’s truck went into a side skid, overturned, and landed on the driver’s side of the highway on the west side.
According to Hunt, her truck veered off the highway to the left and came to a stop in a grassy ditch alongside the highway.
According to San Miguel, Hunt was taken to Cuero Regional Hospital by Goliad County Emergency Medical Services, where she was listed in stable condition Thursday afternoon.
Goliad County Justice of the Peace Susan Moore pronounced Corrigan dead at the scene because he was not wearing a seat belt. According to San Miguel, she requested an autopsy.
Until about 10 a.m., the highway was reduced to one lane. He stated that he would be available on Thursday.
The accident is still being investigated by the public safety department.
