A pedestrian identified as 43-year-old Tony B. was killed when he was struck by a Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office deputy’s vehicle on Sunday night, January 23.
According to the sheriff’s office, the fatal pedestrian accident happened at 11:57 p.m. in the 3000 block of Farm to Market Road 346.
The 43-year-old man of Bullard was killed while walking on the edge of the road when he was struck by a deputy’s vehicle traveling southbound.
While responders were dispatched to the scene, the deputy notified EMS and began performing life-saving measures.
The pedestrian was taken to the UT Health emergency room, where he was eventually pronounced dead.
While an internal investigation is being conducted, the deputy has been placed on administrative leave.
