A woman died, and four others were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash on the Katy Freeway feeder on Sunday, January 23, 2022.
The fatal collision happened on a Sunday on the Katy Freeway feeder at Mason Road.
According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, a Dodge Ram pickup truck and a Dodge Charger collided in the intersection.
After colliding with a signal light pole, the Dodge Ram’s bed and rear axle separated, and the main cab rolled over.
Gonzalez stated that there were four people in the Dodge Ram. At the scene, a woman passenger was pronounced dead.
The three others in the pickup, including the driver, were taken to the hospital with serious injuries but are expected to survive.
The Dodge Challenger driver was also taken to the hospital but is expected to make a full recovery.
Investigators were trying to figure out what caused the accident and whether or not intoxication played a role.
