Residents of a north Houston apartment complex were forced to flee their homes after a massive fire broke out on Sunday, January 23, 2022.
The fire broke out at Timbers of Cranbrook around 8:15 p.m. in the 14000 block of Ella Boulevard.
After witnessing the large fire that destroyed 24 units, several renters are now concerned about their own apartments.
According to the Little York Fire Department, the fire was so large and spread so quickly that they needed assistance from the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office. The fire took about 90 minutes to put out, according to officials.
According to the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office, there were no injuries reported, and the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
Germaine F., who has lived at the apartment complex for six years, expressed his concern about the building’s safety.
The Red Cross is assisting renters who have lost their apartments. According to a spokesperson, they are assisting eight displaced families and have referred others to local organizations.
