[01-23-2022] Travis County, TX – One Person Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident in North Austin

An unidentified person was killed after being struck by a vehicle in north Austin in the early hours of Sunday morning, January 23, 2022.

According to Austin-Travis County EMS, the fatal pedestrian accident happened shortly before 2:00 a.m. on Research Boulevard near the intersection with North Lamar Boulevard.

Part of US 183 was closed while police investigated the incident.

First responders did not immediately reveal the circumstances of the crash and the identity of the person killed.

The crash remains under investigation.
