[01-28-2022] Harris County, TX – 76-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Tow Truck in South Houston

According to Houston police, a tow truck struck and killed a man in a pedestrian accident in south Houston late Friday night, January 28, 2022.

The fatal pedestrian accident occurred around 11:50 p.m. at the 7400 block of Cullen.

Officers were dispatched to the scene of the accident, where they discovered a 76-year-old man who had been hit by a tow truck while attempting to cross the street.

According to authorities, EMS took him to Ben Taub Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The tow truck’s 29-year-old driver pulled over to the side of the road and called 911 to report the accident.

According to an HPD spokesperson, he showed no signs of impairment, cooperated with police, and was released.

According to HPD, the crash will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

Local authorities are still investigating the crash.
