A 32-year-old man was killed, and a 27-year-old woman was injured in a hit-and-run accident in Southeast Houston Club on Monday, January 31.
The crash happened around 2:00 a.m. at the parking lot of El Buho Bar in the 11043 block of Fuqua Street.
A black pickup truck was speeding when it hit a couple walking through the parking lot of the accident scene, according to Houston police.
Investigators are looking for surveillance video from the scene of a fatal hit-and-run crash in a southeast Houston club’s parking lot.
According to police, the driver fled the scene of the accident.
Local authorities said the 32-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman who was also struck was taken to the hospital with a broken leg and is currently in stable condition.
Police said they were baffled as to why the driver was speeding through the parking lot.
According to Sgt. David Rose, the person was believed to have been drinking at this bar at some point earlier, but the authorities were unaware of their identity.
The suspect vehicle was described as a black pickup truck with front-end damage of unknown make and model.
The wanted driver was only described as a Hispanic man who appeared to be intoxicated.
According to witnesses, he caused a commotion in the parking lot before the crash.
Investigators are working to collect surveillance video from businesses in the area to determine exactly what happened.
The accident remains under investigation.
