Two people were transported to a hospital following a suspected multi-vehicle crash outside of Kempner on Tuesday, February 8, 2022.
The collision occurred around 2:00 p.m. on U.S. Highway 190, west of Kempner.
When Johnny C., a local registered nurse and Kempner resident, arrived at the scene of a serious accident, his instincts kicked in.
Chadwick said he was the fourth person on the scene to help the wreck victims, following a nurse and two people he thought were good Samaritans.
Chadwick explained that a group of people was performing CPR on one person, and another person was stabilizing the other victim who was inside the car.
Chadwick stated that he was unaware of the victims’ condition.
When he left, the others were still working on the other one, and Chadwick helped load one of the victims onto a helicopter.
There are no other details available.
The crash remains under investigation.
Multi-Vehicle Crash Statistics
Anyone in Texas can be involved in a car accident at any time. There have been many deaths in cities like Dallas and San Antonio, where traffic accidents are common.
As the world’s most populous state, Texas also has the world’s most extensive road network. Some of the most congested highways in the United States can be found in this area. Texans have suffered more than 246,000 injuries and lost over 3,500 lives as a result of traffic accidents. One person was killed in a multiple-vehicle collision in this area.
This type of accident occurs when three or more vehicles collide with each other. When two cars collide, a “chain reaction” ensues, causing yet another collision.
