According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a Houston man was killed in a traffic accident in Live Oak County on Monday, February 21, 2022.
The fatal two-vehicle crash occurred just after 11:00 p.m. about three miles southwest of Three Rivers on IH 37.
According to DPS investigators, the driver of an SUV traveling north on 37 collided with the trailer of a semi-truck traveling in the same direction.
According to DPS investigators, the impact caused the SUV driver to veer off the road and into a field.
The SUV’s driver, 40-year-old Nayan Bkakta, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alcohol is suspected of having played a role in the crash, according to DPS troopers.
There are no other details available. The crash remains under investigation.
