A Honey Grove man identified as 38-year-old Jake R. was murdered after his tractor was struck on a Lamar County highway on Tuesday, February 22, 2022.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the fatal crash occurred at 9:00 p.m. on U-82.
A Chevrolet driven by 35-year-old James C. of , and a Mahindra 8000 Tractor driven by Jake R., 38, of Honey Grove, were traveling westbound on US-82 when the Chevrolet struck the Mahindra Tractor from behind.
According to troopers, Rempel was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
Christy’s injuries were not life-threatening.
There are no other details available.
The crash remains under investigation.
