[05-29-2022] Hidalgo County, TX – 37-Year-Old Weslaco Woman Dead After Fatal Auto-Pedestrian Collision in Progreso

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a pedestrian woman died after being hit by a vehicle in Progreso Sunday, May 29, 2022.

The fatal pedestrian collision occurred at around 5:30 a.m. northbound on Farm-to-Market Road 1015 just south of Rancho Toluca Road.

Weslaco resident Minerva H., 37, was struck by a vehicle while walking on Farm-to-Market Road 1015 and died at the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Hinojosa was struck by a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado on FM 1015 just south of Rancho Toluca Road.

The driver stopped to render aid but Hinojosa died from her injuries.

The crash is still under active investigation.
