According to Department of Public Safety officials, a woman died after a two-vehicle crash near Pampa Monday, May 30, 2022.
The fatal collision transpired at 6:25 p.m. on State Highway 152, about three miles west of Pampa, officials said a 2021 GMC Sierra was westbound.
A 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer traveling east crossed over the center stripe and into the westbound lane, directly in front of the GMC Sierra, for an unknown reason.
The Sierra’s driver, 63-year-old Michael L. of Orange Park, Florida, was unable to avoid colliding with the other vehicle and collided head-on.
Lugar’s car came to a halt in a field to the northwest of the highway.
Kristen K. of Pampa, 28, was driving the Chevrolet Trailblazer when it came to a stop on its top in the westbound lane.
Knoop was declared dead at the scene.
Lugar was taken to Pampa Regional Medical Plaza with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.
Troopers from the Texas Highway Patrol are investigating the accident.
