One unidentified man was injured after a rear-end crash that occurred in San Antonio on Saturday, November 13, 2021.
The accident happened around 11:30 p.m. in the 3600 block of Piedmont Avenue.
Initial investigation shows that the victim driving a Toyota Tacoma was heading south on Interstate 37 when he was struck by a white truck from behind.
The victim lost control due to the impact and went down an embankment, crashing into a power line tower near Piedmont Avenue.
Emergency responders rescued the victim, who sustained two broken legs, and rushed him to a hospital. He was reportedly in stable condition.
Reports show that the white truck was stopped just ahead of the crash, but the driver could not be located even after the police searched the area. The crash remains under investigation.

In 2017, there were 447 pedestrian deaths in the United States, with Texas accounting for 10% of them. Pedestrian traffic deaths in Texas increased by 5% in 2019, with 5,975 collisions resulting in 669 deaths.
Texas ranks eighth in the country for hit-and-run accidents, accounting for 8% of all collisions. According to a statement released by the American Automobile Association, the number of hit-and-run fatalities in Texas increased by 60% from 2009 to 2016.
