Two people were killed in a crash involving an intoxicated driver on the northwest side on Saturday, November 27, 2021.
The crash happened around 10:00 p.m. on Veterans Memorial, at the intersection at Moorebrook Drive.
Police said the driver who caused the crash showed indications of intoxication at the time. Speed could also have been a factor in the accident.
Investigators say a black pickup truck was speeding northbound on Veterans Memorial. It collided with the driver’s side of another pickup truck traveling through the Moorebrook Drive intersection.
According to Harris County sheriff’s deputies, both trucks ended up in a ditch on the roadway.
The second truck’s driver died at the scene. His 60-year-old female passenger was immediately rushed to a local hospital, where she eventually passed away.
According to reports, the driver responsible for the crash is in critical condition at Ben Taub hospital.
Local authorities are still investigating the crash.
