One 57-year-old man identified as Jorge C. of Mexico was killed in a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 359 on Friday morning, December 10, 2021.
The crash happened at about 4:30 a.m., two miles north of Orange Grove in Jim Wells County on State Highway 359.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman Sgt. Nathan Brandley, a southbound Toyota Camry swerved to avoid hitting a deer and collided head-on with a Mazda traveling northbound on the highway.
The 57-year-old Mazda driver from Mexico was taken by ground ambulance to Spohn Alice Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Mazda’s male passenger was taken to Alice Hospital and treated before being released.
The Camry’s male driver was also taken to Spohn Alice Hospital, where he was treated for serious injuries.
